Jennifer Lupinacci
Jennifer Lupinacci is responsible for the development and management of
PBS Kids series for the Public Broadcasting Service, including such
award-winning programs as Barney & Friends, Between the Lions, the PBS
Kids Bookworm Bunch, Clifford The Big Red Dog, Dragon Tales, Sesame
Street, Teletubbies, Zoom, and Zoboomafoo as well as Caillou, the newly
launched Cyberchase, Jay Jay the Jet Plane, Sagwa and the upcoming
Liberty's Kids. Ms. Lupinacci is also responsible for reviewing and
evaluating program submissions to PBS.
Prior to joining PBS in October 2000, Ms Lupinacci spent five years as a
freelance creator, writer and story editor on a number of children's
television series. Working in London and New York, Ms. Lupinacci's
projects included the Emmy-nominated second season of Disney Channel's
Amazing Animals, the revival of the popular Womble series for ITV in
England, and Upstairs Downstairs Bears, with Egmont Imagination, Scottish
TV and Cinar. She also served as a development consultant to production
companies in London and the United States.
Previously, Ms. Lupinacci was the Director of Creative Services with the
Jim Henson Company for almost seven years. There she worked closely with
the company’s Creative Director, Michael Frith, on the creative
development of myriad projects in a variety of media including television,
theme park development and consumer products. Ms. Lupinacci feels very
fortunate to have landed at Henson at the time she did. In addition to
having a great deal of fun - and the opportunity to work with some of the
most talented people in the business - she learned an immeasurable amount
about the importance and possibility of entertaining AND educating
children.
Before joining Henson, Ms Lupinacci worked with WW Entertainment in New
York.
Ms Lupinacci was born and raised in the West Indies, and was educated
there and in England. Her family owns The Hermitage, a plantation inn on
the island of Nevis. She tries to get home as much as possible!
