Kevin Kay

Kevin Kay Kevin Kay is Executive Vice President, Production for Nickelodeon, Nick at Nite, TNN and TV Land. In this role, Kay is responsible for Nickelodeon’s ongoing program development and current series production activities in New York, Los Angeles, Orlando and Canada.

Kay has overseen the development of various Nickelodeon hits, including Nicktoons SpongeBob SquarePants, As Told By Ginger, The Wild Thornberrys, CatDog, Fairly Odd Parents and the live-action series Taina, The Amanda Show, Double Dare 2000, The Journey of Allen Strange, Cousin Skeeter, The Nick Cannon Show and The Brothers Garcia and which was cited as "breakthrough television" by the Los Angeles Times. Kay also served as Executive Producer and Co-Creator of the network’s popular game show Figure It Out, hosted by Olympic champion Summer Sanders.

Previously, Kay had served as Nickelodeon’s Vice President and Executive Producer for Development -- a role he assumed in February 1996. In this capacity, he was responsible for all live-action and animation program development for Nickelodeon. Prior to that position, he led Nickelodeon’s Producer’s Group, charged with generating new and innovative programming ideas for the network. In that role, Kay developed and co-executive produced the alternative animation series KABLAM!

Kay first joined Nickelodeon as Executive in Charge of Production of the critically acclaimed series The Adventures of Pete & Pete and managed production of Weinerville and the award-winning series Wildside. He also provided the creative leadership in the development of such classic Nickelodeon series as Kenan & Kel and All That.

Before joining Nickelodeon, Kay had a development deal with HBO Downtown Productions. Prior to that, he held various writer/producer positions which included writing for the late-night comedy series Night After Night starring Alan Havey and as supervising producer/writer for WOR-TV’s New York At Night. Kay also produced F.D.R.: A One Man Show starring Chris Elliott for Cinemax.

Kay is the recipient of numerous honors, including two local Emmy Awards for New York At Night and two CableACE Awards for the Nickelodeon series The Adventures of Pete & Pete.

A native of New York City, Kay lives in Park Ridge, NJ, with his two children, Jillian and Robert.
