Vincent Chavlon Demersay
Vincent Chalvon-Demersay is a graduate of the French Institut d’Etudes Politiques de Paris and has a Masters degree in law from the University of Paris 10. In 1989, after graduation, he was hired by Haim Saban to represent his activity in France.
"Saban Entertainment was, at the time, a very small and entrepreneurial company - around 15 people - and, from that point, doubled in size every 6 months. It has been an incredible experience." said Vincent Chalvon-Demersay.
"I was working with Haim and Stan Golden, selling animated series to all the newly created channels in Europe. The business was booming and I can’t describe how much fun we had. It was incredible ... In 1991, Haim informed me that I was now going to be a producer. At the time, I didn’t even know what that meant.
From then, as managing director of Saban France, Vincent Chalvon-Demersay launched and ran the studio in Paris. "Our strategy in Paris, at that time, was to adapt European comic books into animation ... and we have been incredibly successful." Over the 6 following years, Saban Paris produced 20 successful series in Europe such as Princess Sissi (52x26 minutes) based on the story of the famous Austrian princess, Oliver Twist (52x26’), Iznogoud (26x26’), Walter melon (52x26), Diabolik (40x26’), Jim Knopf (52x26’) based on the novel by Michael Ende, etc ... Vincent Chalvon-Demersay put together co-production deals with TF1, France 3, ARD, ITV, Rai, and Mediaset, among others.
In 1998, Vincent Chalvon-Demersay started a joined-venture with Marathon, one of the most successful French live action companies. After a little more than two years, Marathon has become one of the leading animation companies in Europe. Its current productions include "Totally Spies" (52x26’) with Abc family, Channel 4, TF1, Fox Kids Europe and Pro7 Media, "Marsupilami" (52x26) with Super RTL, France 3, Telequebec, "Martin Mystery" with Rai, Canal J, M6, and Pro7 Media, and "Odyssey" (26x26’) with M6 and BAF.
