Millions of South African children will now be exposed to Sesame Street television, radio and outreach programs, thanks to a grant awarded to Children's Television Workshop (CTW) by the United States Agency for International Development. The project represents the first time CTW has undertaken outreach, radio and television at the same time.
The project will be tailored by South African educators to reflect the nation's culture and traditions. CTW has undertaken 18 such indigenous co-productions, including projects in Israel/Palestine, China and Russia.
