KidScreen Poll

Time Warner Cable CEO Glenn Britt has recently gone on record to say that he has a problem with nets streaming free full-length eps of content online. Some suggest that the US cable carriers may start witholding subscriber fees, cutting network revenues, if the practice continues. Do you think the situation will affect original kids TV production in the US?
Yes, when the networks lose money production budgets suffer
Maybe, if the MSOs and the Networks can't reach an online rev-share model
No, the networks need new content to drive viewership and online traffic

People moves: Chorion bolsters L&M ranks

by Gary Rusak

In anticipation of Noddy's 60th and the launch of The Mr. Men Show, Chorion is expanding its London-based retail and licensing teams. David Walton joins the IP house as senior retail manager for Europe, while Melanie Humberstone-Garley has been bumped up to UK territory manager.

Walton will be responsible for driving retail sales of all Chorion brands across the UK and Europe with an emphasis on fostering cross-category activity. He most recently worked at Hasbro UK.

Humberstone-Garley, meanwhile, is now responsible for delivery of Chorion's UK licensing revenue targets, managing a team of four.

Before joining Chorion, Humberstone-Garley held management positions at The Copyrights Group where she looked after brands including Beatrix Potter, Paddington Bear and Flower Fairies.
