Galactik Football scores pan-Euro video game licensee

by Gary Rusak

The consumer products program for Alphanim's 2-D/CGI series Galactik Football has been building steam in Europe over the past year, and the Paris-based prodco, along with licensing agent Jetix Consumer Products, has just locked in a big piece of the puzzle that should help put L&M plans into overdrive. As the pan-European interactive game licensee for the property, 505 Games will produce a Galactik title for PC, Nintendo DS and Wii formats and distribute the product in Italy, France, Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Spain, Portugal, the UK, Ireland, Benelux, Scandinavia and Eastern Europe.

An MMORPG based on the space-bound soccer series is also in the works. Initial product should roll out in summer 2008 to coincide with the launch of Galactik Football's second season across the region.
