Ovadia looking to score one for Alphanim in North America

by Gary Rusak

With Posh and Becks now stationed on US soil as the stylish superstar gets ready to lead his new club LA Galaxy to the top of the Major League Soccer circuit, the time may be ripe for football (that's soccer to you, North America)-inspired toons to make some headway in the new world. As such, Al Ovadia & Associates is taking a kick at the goalpost, having just inked a deal with Alphanim for US distribution and licensing rights to the French prodco's 52 x 30-minute series Galactik Football.

In the broad-based arrangement, Ovadia will be looking for multi-platform distribution deals, including broadcast, home entertainment, motion pictures, wireless and internet video-on-demand for the series that airs in several Euro territories on Jetix. A licensing and merchandising program is also in the works.
